Note: There are some really great pictures included. Enjoy!!!!!
We are hanging in there. Maddison's body is really struggling to try to
get this time change thing figured out. We have actually gotten 3
complete night sleeps since we returned home last Saturday. She is
struggling with really bad night terrors. One night, and yes I have no
idea what day is was, but she suffered for 2 and 1/2 hours with these
terrors. Normally the last one of the evening wakes her up and she
fights the urge to go back to sleep. Hence Dave and I have seen 6:30
a.m. roll around without getting any sleep. She is to the point that
naps are a struggle too. Poor baby girl!!!!!! We have done all kinds
of things, soft music, lights, singing, etc., etc., etc. What works one
night does not work the next. We sang "Jesus Loves You" one night for 4
hours. Please pray for her. She needs peace while she sleeps and as
she is falling asleep.
Each of us came back with a little cough and/or cold. It is amazing
what a little sleep will do to help concur this. The last three nights of sleep have made a good difference for
both Dave, Maddison, and myself. We did come back to lots of smoke in
the air and that has slowed down the healing process. (Don't know
where the forest fires are in our area, but wow the smoke is thick and farmers are starting to burn their fields - a common activity around here.)
We had our first post adoption meeting with our social worker Saturday
afternoon and all went well. Maddison preformed for her just like she
did the night some of us went out to eat right after the Chaberts had
been to Maria's Big House and Aidan was not feeling so great. Maddie
was a ham and all over the place. I think we have an entertainer.
We go to the doctor on Tuesday. Our pediatrician was out of the office
this past week so we decided to wait till he was back. Our pediatrician
reminds me a lot of my dad, so hopefully Maddison will warm up to him
pretty quickly. It will be nice to know what Dr. Gene thinks about
her. Praise the Lord. We have a Christian pediatrician that I known
for years. It is a very comforting feeling.
Dave goes back to work on Monday and is regretting it tons. I do know we have been lucky to have him with us this week.

The next series of pictures is trying to get Maddison to not eat so fast and stuff everything in her little cheeks. We have resorted to placing our hands over the the food and saying "Ahhhhh...." so we can see her mouth is empty. Seems to be slowing her down some.

| Really daddy...its all gone. My mouth is empty! |
Our friend Gina brought over a new coat for Maddison. She was more interested in the bag it was in than the coat (Sorry Gina!). Had to get a picture of her wearing the bag on her head. She is quite the entertainer!

We seem to be over the jet lag. We are trying to get some normal routine going and seems to be working. Maddison is doing real well adapting, but pray that the night terrors will stop and she can get a good night's sleep. She is a wonderful little girl and we love her with all our hearts!!! God has really blessed us with her!!!!
