Week Five - Family

This was a quiet week, but we had some great time with family, extended family, and thought about special friends too.

Grandpa Lockman has a great friend from childhood named Steve.  I have called him  Uncle Steve as long as I can remember.  For Maddison, he will be called Great Uncle Steve or just Great Steve.  Well, Great Steve got this cute little dress for Maddie and she looks just like a "Southerner".  The bow did not make into the picture.  (Great Steve has been in the hospital and we all want him to get better.  Love you and get well!!)

I had a dentist checkup and thought it would be a good idea for Maddison to see someone else having "mouth" work done.  Grandpa Lockman goes to the same dentist and so he was called upon to keep up with Maddison while I was in the dentist chair.  The two of them sat in the area with me and were apart of my appt.  Maddie was totally interested and was a perfect angel.  I was a little worried because it was close to nap time, but all went well.

Waiting for Mama to visit the dentist.

Grandpa is a nice pillow.

I am teaching Maddison some sign language.  Among other words this week, we learned the sign for pumpkin.  She really enjoys thumping or knocking on her pumpkins multiple times each day. Grammie and Grandpa Lockman brought Maddison a couple of pumpkins and some Indian Corn.
Grammie having Maddie touch the corn.

It feels different.

Playing with the corn.

What a cutie!!!

Thumping our pumpkins.

Our friend Gina, who was our guest blogger while we were in China, made Maddison some of her orange jello.  Maddie loved it and even ate some for breakfast one morning with her waffles, blueberries, and bananas.

We had two birthday's this week.  Dave's brother Jeff (Uncle Jeff) and his wife Sherry (Aunt Sherry) both celebrated their special days this week.   This was her first time to see presents in boxes and wrapped.  She just had to help.

The cards were OK.  To bad I can't read yet.

Wrapping paper...this  is pretty interesting.

Oh a box!  Can I have it?  They are the best thing to play with.
A pumpkin!  Now I like pumpkins!!!!!!

To top it off, two of their sons, Morgan and Ryan, were home for fall breaks.  This was Maddison's first time to meet Ryan.  She met Morgan in Portland the other week and she quickly remembered who he was.   Maddison really liked the cousin thing!   Poor Cousin Morgan had the joy of getting his wisdom teeth pulled while he was home.  Wasn't he a lucky fellow!

Maddison really enjoyed spending time with some of her cousins.

I think the boys were in awe of her too.  Both of the boys took lots of pictures of her.

Ryan took this picture.  Two of Maddison's favorite things:  her finger and "Socks" the monkey.

Morgan spent time playing with Maddison.  She thinks he is great.

They were playing a game of fetch with the dog.

Also, we had a couple of days where the wind blew like only it can do in Idaho.  Needless to say, many leaves fell.  Maddison was in awe at the leaves.

What are these things?

 Leaves?!?
These are pretty neat.

Wait, what do I do with them?

You are kidding.  Pick them all up!?!?

Oh wait, there are some up there too.

More are falling.

I really do like these things.  They are pretty.

There was definitely a theme running through our lives this week......pumpkins.

Haircut Number 2.......really it was only a trim.  It is amazing how fast her hair grows.

Do we really have to do this again?

All done?

Love to you all.
