Visit of CCAI and Chinese New Year Celebration

We left for Denver to visit CCAI and attend their Chinese New Years Celebration on Saturday.  Roads were clear on the way down.  Between Rawlings, WY and Laramie, WY, we ran into 100+ mph winds.  Five big semi's were blown over in the west bound lane of Interstate 80.  We left Idaho Falls and made it to Laramie the first day.  Made it to Denver on Thursday.  Friday we visited CCAI and met all the wonderful people there.  We can now put a face with a voice!  We were able to meet Josh and Lily as well.  Here are a few pictures from our visit.

On Saturday, we volunteered to help in the Chinese New Years celebration that the Joyous Chinese Cultural Center put on at Mission Hills Church outside of Denver.  There were over 200 kids that put on dances from various provinces of China.  Overall, there were probably 1200 people who attended!  Robin and I sold concessions prior to the celebration.  It was neat to see all the kids that have been adopted from China perform!

We spent Saturday evening with some Gideon friends Pat and Roy Wooten.  We had a great time with them.  We packed up and headed home on Sunday.  Roads were not as good coming home.  Not only was there wind between Laramie and Rawlings, but blowing snow!  Once we turned onto highway 30 outside Little American in WY and headed up to Soda Springs, the roads became snow packed.  We made it home safely about 7:00 PM Sunday night.
